Our Staff

Ashley came to Annabelle Meadows Farm in 2025 after being assistant barn manager at Holly Hill Show Stables for 2 years prior. She has taken on the role of our Barn Manager, fulfilling many roles that are essential in the efficiency of the facility, horses and clients. Ashley oversees elite equine care, staff operations, coordinating complex vet, farrier, and show-travel schedules while maintaining pristine daily stable standards. She is also in charge of customized feeding programs and the sole person to make each horse's grain and handles supplements. Administering medical treatments when needed and in constant contact with our lead Equine Veterinarians at all times. She is very organized with when and how each medication- whether it be daily or temporary is given. She is responsible for ordering all feed, bedding, and making sure all the horse's supplements are stocked. Ashley is also always available to clients for consulting any needs for themselves or the horses. She assists with the training and lesson schedule and so much more!! Ashley is very proud to be responsible for the management of Annabelle Meadows and the well-being of all the horses here. She thrives to create an exceptional environment that is both visually appealing and operationally efficient for horse and rider! Ashley also has her MA Riding Instructors Licenses and fills in when needed for lessons. She runs our summer riding program for kids that we have 3 weeks out of the summer. Ashley also will pro-ride a few horses in spare time but focuses mainly on management.

In 2010 Alex started his professional career in the horse world, while attending Johnson & Wales University for a Bachelor's degree in Equine Business Management. During this time he apprenticed under several different trainers at Sterling Pointe Farm, starting working, training, and showing young horses. Alex works & specializes in a variety of breeds including Quarter Horses, Appaloosas, Paints, Morgans, OTTBs, Saddlebreds, and Warmbloods. During his sophomore year of college he wanted to further his knowledge in Classical Dressage, and took over 5 years of extensive lessons with FEI trainer and USDF Silver Medalist Maria Harrington. During this time Alex also raised, trained and showed several horses of his own, including an Appaloosa (Weedo's Reward) and an American Saddlebred (Underwater Gold). Weedie went on to become one of the top Appaloosas in New England for over 10 years, taking home titles in Halter, Western Pleasure, and Hunter Under Saddle. Alex and his Saddlebred went on to successfully compete at the USDF rated national and international levels. In 2016 Alex and his family purchased Sterling Pointe Farm in Rochester, MA. During this time he acquired his Instructor's License, as well as becoming heavily involved in the local 4-H community, eventually acquiring his 4-H Judges card rated A as well as becoming a 4-H officer. Over the coming years, Alex spent much of his time building up his farm's training and lesson program, using many of the young horses he trained and personally shown. Alex currently enjoys teaching and training at several different barns aside from his own, such as Holly Hill Farm, Four Winds Farm, as well as Annabelle Meadows - specializing in horse and rider biomechanics, ground work, rider feel, showing, equitation, and showing on New England and breed rated circuits. Currently here at Annabelle Meadows, Alex is the trainer onsite for the school horses as well as the client horses. As a trainer he truly enjoys working with clients and their horses as a team.

Kate began riding at age 6 while growing up in Bethany, CT. She became a member of Sleeping Giant Pony Club and was involved in Eventing, Showing, Games, and Vaulting. As a 12-year-old, she was a member of the USPC National Champion Games team, which went on to represent the United States in international competition. In her mid-teens Kate decided to focus on showing in the Equitation, Hunters, and Jumpers throughout her junior years. She attended Roger Williams University where she was the Captain of the equestrian team for 3 out of her 4 years, competing in the Open division in IHSA shows. During her time in college, she began competing throughout Europe representing the United States with the IIE (now known as USA Student Riders), in both Dressage (up to Prix St. George) and Show Jumping (up to 1.45m). After graduation Kate became Co-Director of the IEA, recruiting student athletes to represent the United States in Nations Cups in Europe as well as organizing and running Nations Cups in the USA. She remained in this position both riding and coaching for approximately 8 more years, then became the coach for the MIT Equestrian Team. As her focus shifted to raising her 3 daughters with her husband Michael, she reduced her schedule to training a few clients. As her daughters got older she began teaching/training more again and has been an IEA coach for the past 17 years as well as an AEL coach, with numerous National Titles. Her teaching/training focus is on correctness of both horse and rider, no matter the discipline or level.

Julie has been teaching horses and their riders Dressage for more than 25 years. Julie's instruction style is informed by her two amazing horses, Oktober and Simon, with whom she learned the power of a strong connection between horse and rider. These partnerships of a lifetime have led Julie to teach her riders how to listen to the horse and be clear in riding so the horse can "hear" what you are asking. Julie finds satisfaction in teaching students how to work and create the best results between each horse and rider combination. Julie has studied with some well-known names in Dressage and training, including Michael Poulin, Christopher Hickey, Volker Brommann, Danielle Gavriluk, and others throughout her career to enhance her knowledge and credentials, becoming an FEI trainer and rider and a licensed PATH Certified Riding Instructor. Julie is excited to be a part of Annabelle Meadows Farm and Equestrian Center to continue her journey teaching, training, and riding!
